COLUMBUS PADDLING CLUB (CPC) WINTER POOL PRACTICE SESSIONS
We will again be hosting pool sessions this winter. The 2024 dates are listed below.
Boats must be immaculately clean inside and out before entering the water. Please scrub and vacuum the dirt out of your boat beforehand! Floatation bags must be removed (unless needed for a canoe).
We are looking for volunteers to help with collecting fees and inspecting boats for cleanliness. Volunteers get into the session for free. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mary Spikowski at mspikowski@msn.com
If you are interested in getting into whitewater, pool sessions are a great way to get introduced to the sport. Although this is not a formal instructional event, if you contact us ahead of time, we may be able to help you. There will be people that are willing to help you learn to roll and may be able to bring some loaner gear. If you have any questions or are interested in learning to roll, please contact Mary Spikowski at mspikowski@msn.com

(Entrance to pool sessions is not through the facility’s main entrance. Park on the left (north) side of the building, which is facing County Line Road. Do not block the fire hydrant. You will be entering through a clear glass pair of doors through which you can see the pool. You won’t see these clear glass doors from the parking lot. You will need to walk through grass (which is often muddy) to reach the clear glass doors. They are around the back left side of the building.
When:
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
(Suggest arriving around 5:00 to get oriented, bring your boat in, get dressed, and be ready to enter the pool at 5:30. We are not allowed to actually enter the water until 5:30, but we are allowed to enter the facility at 5:00.)
Cost:
$12 for members, $18 for non-members
