Members Release and Waiver of Liability *

In consideration for membership to the Columbus Paddling Club (CPC), I do declare that I understand and acknowledge the following: 1. All participants in CPC trips do so as common adventurers. CPC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered the leader of a trip. 2. All participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether to participate on any particular water body or section, what equipment they use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are appropriate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. 3. Paddling has inherent dangers which can be minimized through education and experience, but cannot be totally eliminated. 4. I may assist my fellow participants to the best of my own ability if they need assistance, but only for so long as I can do so, in my judgement without unreasonably endangering myself. I further understand that I have no legal obligation to assist, and that neither my fellow participants nor other member or guest of CPC have any legal obligation to render assistance to me. I hereby, for myself and anyone else claiming through me, waive any and all rights and claims for damage I may have against the CPC, its officers, representatives or members for injuries suffered by me in CPC activities. This release is given to enable my fellow participants, CPC members and me to feel free in participation in CPC activities and to donate our services to help each other without fear of liability. This release is given in consideration of similar releases to be granted on my behalf by other members of CPC. This waiver has no expiration. PARENTS OR GUARDIANS OF MINORS: I am the parent or guardian of the minor(s) listed as club members and I consent to the terms of this release and waiver on behalf of the named minor(s), and I further agree to indemnify CPC, its members and officers for any claims arising from the participation of the named minor(s).
